How to Use Full Brightness Safely on Multiplayer Servers

Full Brightness Toggle is a client-side mod, meaning it changes only what you see. That also means server rules, not the mod itself, decide whether using it is allowed.

Before You Toggle

  • Read the server rules or ask staff whether brightness or gamma modifications are permitted.
  • Assume competitive PvP, anarchy, and ranked servers disallow it unless stated otherwise.
  • Remember that on servers with anti-cheat or mod-checking plugins, a client-side brightness change can still be detected or reported.

Safer Habits

  • If the server allows it, treat it as a convenience for building and exploring, not as a combat edge.
  • Turn it off when you are not actively using it, especially in PvP areas.
  • Do not advertise that you are using it in chat; other players may report you even where it is technically tolerated.

If You Are Unsure

Leave it off. The risk of a ban or a wiped account is not worth the convenience, and the mod provides no benefit that a torch, lantern, or potion of night vision cannot provide legitimately. When in doubt, ask staff directly rather than guessing from other players' behaviour.
