Enable or Disable Shadow Effects
Locating Shadow Settings
Access the shader options menu in-game. Navigate to the lighting or shadows section. FSR Shaders includes toggles for shadow rendering that you can enable or disable based on your preference.
Performance Impact
Shadows add visual depth—blocks cast realistic shadows, and the sky contributes balanced ambient lighting. However, shadow calculations consume GPU resources.
Disable shadows if:
- Your frame rate drops noticeably in shadowed areas
- You're playing on low-end hardware and need every frame
- You prefer a flatter, simpler visual style
Enable shadows if:
- Your hardware handles it comfortably
- You want enhanced depth perception and atmosphere
- You're building structures and want to see how lighting affects them
Checking the Difference
Toggle shadows on and off, then stand in a shaded area like under a tree or inside a cave. The difference should be immediately visible. If frame rate remains stable with shadows on, keep them enabled for better visuals.
