How to Use FrozenLib Features as a Modpack or Datapack Author

If you're building a modpack or datapack and a mod depends on FrozenLib, you can lean on its tools directly. FrozenLib exposes utilities that other mods call, but several are also reachable through data and config.

Structure Path Overrides

FrozenLib lets mods change where structure pieces are pulled from. As a pack author, this means you can redirect a structure's template path via the dependent mod's config or data files without editing the mod jar. Check the dependent mod's documentation for the exact folder or config key it exposes — FrozenLib provides the mechanism, the mod defines the entry point.

Scheduled Ticks and Dripstone Behavior

FrozenLib adds the ability to attach scheduled ticks to any block and to let dripstone dry out or drip from arbitrary blocks. These are configured by the mod that uses them, not by FrozenLib alone. If you want a custom block to drip or tick, you'll need a mod (or your own) that registers it through FrozenLib's API.

Datafixers

FrozenLib supports datafixers that convert old saved data to newer formats. This matters when updating a pack across versions: keep the dependent mods updated together so their datafixers run in the right order. Don't skip versions if a mod warns about data conversion.

Practical Tip

Treat FrozenLib as plumbing. Configure the mods on top of it, and only touch FrozenLib directly if a dependent mod's docs tell you to.
