Access Hardcore Hearts

Fresh Hearts includes a special updated texture for hardcore mode eyes that appear on your health bar. These are the distinctive eye icons that replace hearts when you're in hardcore difficulty.

1. Create a new world and set the difficulty to Hardcore during world creation

2. Once in your hardcore world, look at your health bar in the top-left corner

3. The eye icons should display with the Fresh Hearts styling — sharper, cleaner lines compared to vanilla

What to Expect

In hardcore mode, your hearts transform into eyes as a visual indicator of the permanent death consequence. Fresh Hearts modernizes these eye textures to match the rest of the pack's aesthetic. The eyes will still function identically to vanilla — they represent your remaining lives before permanent death.

Note: Hardcore mode is only available in single-player worlds. You cannot enable it on multiplayer servers.
