Enhance Cave and Underground Lighting
Understand FreeVibrant's Cave Lighting
FreeVibrant naturally improves visibility in dark areas without breaking immersion. Caves remain atmospheric while being navigable without torches, though torchlight still provides practical illumination.
Adjust Ambient Light Settings
In shader options, look for:
- Ambient Brightness: Increase slightly to make cave exploration easier while maintaining shadow depth.
- Underground Lighting: Some versions include specific toggles for cave illumination. Enable or adjust based on preference.
- Block Light Intensity: Controls how strongly torches, lava, and glowstone illuminate surroundings.
Place Strategic Lighting
Combine shader improvements with in-game lighting:
- Use torches at intersections to navigate complex cave systems.
- Place lanterns or soul lanterns for aesthetic underground bases.
- Lava pools naturally light large caverns with warm tones.
Test Different Times
Visit caves at different in-game times and weather conditions. FreeVibrant's color palette adapts to these changes, so underground areas may appear warmer or cooler depending on surface conditions. Adjust ambient settings if certain cave types feel too dark or washed out.
