What Framework Mod Does and How to Use It

A Library for Mod Developers

Framework Mod is not a content mod you play with directly. It is a library: a shared set of tools that other mods can build on. If you install it on its own, you will not see new blocks, items, or mobs in your world.

Its purpose is to make life easier for mod authors. It provides powerful, easy-to-use utilities that would otherwise require large amounts of repetitive code to achieve the same result. This means mods built on Framework can offer features that would be harder to implement from scratch.

A key design choice is that Framework avoids Mixins, the code injection service many mods use to alter game behavior. Because it does not patch into other code this way, it stays compatible with a wide range of mods and is safe to include in modpacks.

Installing It

Install Framework the same way as any other mod for your loader. You generally do not configure it yourself; it simply needs to be present for the mods that depend on it to work. If a mod lists Framework as a requirement, add both to your mods folder.
