Reduce Lag When Moving Through Chunks
Understanding Chunk Rebuild Speed
When you move through your world, the mod rebuilds chunks (terrain sections) around you. By default, this happens quickly, which can cause sudden frame drops. The mod includes a chunk rebuild limiter to spread this work across multiple frames.
Configuring Chunk Loading
In the mod settings, find the Chunk Rebuild or Chunk Loading Speed option. Lower values mean the mod rebuilds fewer chunks per frame, reducing stuttering when you fly or travel quickly.
If you're using Creative mode or flying with an Elytra, set this to a lower value. For normal walking speed, you can use a higher value without noticeable lag.
Balancing Smoothness and Responsiveness
Too low a value may cause terrain to load visibly slowly around you. Too high causes frame drops. Start with a middle setting and adjust based on your experience. Test by flying in Creative mode or sprinting across unloaded terrain.
This setting works best combined with reduced render distance for distant blocks like chests and banners.
