Lower CPU Usage with Slow Tick and Weather Disabling
What Slow Tick Does
Slow Tick reduces the frequency of world ticks—the rate at which the game updates block states, fluid flow, and other world mechanics. This directly cuts CPU consumption without removing features entirely.
Enabling Slow Tick
1. Open FPS Boost Mod settings
2. Find Slow Tick under Performance Options
3. Toggle it ON
4. Optionally adjust the tick reduction rate if the mod allows
5. Save and apply
Disabling Weather
1. In the same settings menu, locate Weather or Rain/Storm options
2. Toggle Disable Weather to ON
3. Rain, snow, and thunderstorms will no longer occur
4. Save changes
Performance Impact
Both features significantly reduce CPU load:
- Slow Tick slows block updates (crops, redstone, water) but maintains playability
- Disabling weather removes particle rendering and weather sound processing
These are ideal for building-focused worlds or servers where weather isn't essential. Combine them with entity management for maximum CPU savings on low-end systems.
