Understand Fortune vs. Vanilla Ancient Debris Mechanics
What Changed
This mod fundamentally alters how Ancient Debris works. Instead of dropping the block itself (requiring smelting into scraps), it now drops Netherite Scraps directly—and these drops scale with Fortune enchantment, just like Diamond Ore.
Key Differences from Vanilla
| Aspect | Vanilla | With Mod |
|--------|---------|----------|
| Drop | Ancient Debris block | Netherite Scraps |
| Fortune effect | None | Increases scrap count |
| Processing | Smelt block → scraps | Scraps ready to use |
| Silk Touch | Preserves block | Still preserves block |
Practical Impact
You skip the smelting step entirely. Mined scraps go directly into your inventory for crafting Netherite Ingots. This means:
- Faster Netherite acquisition
- No furnace time required
- Fortune becomes genuinely useful for this resource
- Vanilla mining behavior is preserved with Silk Touch
This change makes Ancient Debris behave consistently with other ore types, streamlining the late-game progression experience.
