Create Custom Buildings with Datapacks

Understanding Datapack Support

Forsaken Concrete Jungle supports full datapack customization, allowing you to add new building designs, modify block palettes, and define custom structures that generate in your cities.

Setting Up Custom Content

1. Create a datapack folder in your world's datapacks directory

2. Structure it following the mod's datapack format (consult the mod's documentation for the exact directory layout and JSON schema)

3. Define your custom buildings as structure files or through the mod's building definition system

4. Specify which block palettes your buildings use—this determines what materials appear in your designs

Adding Variety

You can:

  • Design unique building layouts
  • Create themed structures (residential, industrial, commercial)
  • Customize color schemes and materials
  • Control building frequency and placement rules

Reload your world or restart the server for changes to take effect. Datapacks allow builders to completely reshape city generation without modifying the mod itself, making it ideal for custom multiplayer servers or personal themed worlds.
