Preserve Vanilla Aesthetics While Using Forrest Shaders

Understand the Shader's Design Philosophy

Forrest Shaders is built to enhance rather than replace vanilla visuals. It adds lighting effects and sunbeams while keeping block textures, colors, and proportions unchanged. This means you retain the classic blocky appearance you expect from Minecraft.

Disable Fantasy Lighting if Needed

If the soft fantasy lighting feels too stylized, look for a toggle or intensity slider for ambient glow effects. You can reduce or disable this feature while keeping the core sunbeam-through-canopy effect, which is more grounded in vanilla logic.

Keep Saturation and Color Neutral

Avoid pushing color saturation or contrast sliders too high. Forrest Shaders works best when colors remain close to vanilla—greens stay natural, skies remain recognizable, and blocks maintain their familiar appearance.

Test in Familiar Biomes

Load a world you know well and compare before/after. The shader should make forests feel brighter and more atmospheric without making your base or structures look alien. If something feels off, dial back intensity settings.

Balance with Other Mods

If using texture packs or other visual mods, ensure they complement Forrest Shaders' clean aesthetic. Avoid overly stylized packs that clash with the shader's vanilla-preserving approach.
