Optimize Forrest Shaders for Better Performance
Identify Performance Bottlenecks
Open the shader menu and note which settings consume the most resources. Sunbeam quality, shadow detail, and light ray resolution are typically the heaviest features.
Reduce Light Ray Quality
Lower the sunbeam resolution or sample count. This decreases the computational load while maintaining the visual effect of light shining through canopies—rays simply appear slightly less refined.
Disable or Reduce Fantasy Lighting
If the soft fantasy lighting effects cause lag, look for ambient lighting or glow intensity settings. Reducing these won't eliminate the shader's core sunbeam feature but will free up processing power.
Adjust Render Distance Selectively
Forrest Shaders applies effects across your entire view distance. Consider lowering your render distance slightly if performance is critical, as this reduces the area the shader must process.
Monitor Frame Rate
Use an in-game FPS counter to track changes. Make one adjustment at a time and test in a forest biome—the area where Forrest Shaders has the most visual impact. Save settings that maintain playable frame rates while preserving the visual style you prefer.
