Enhance Visibility in Dense Forests
Increase Ambient Light Settings
Access the shader configuration and raise the ambient brightness slider. This brightens shadowed areas under thick canopies without washing out the overall look, making it easier to see blocks and mobs in dark forest interiors.
Boost Sunbeam Visibility
Increase sunbeam intensity so light rays penetrate deeper into the forest. Brighter rays naturally illuminate more of the surrounding area, improving visibility without changing the vanilla aesthetic.
Adjust Leaf Block Transparency
Some shader settings control how opaque leaf blocks appear to the lighting system. Reducing leaf opacity allows more light to pass through, brightening forest floors and making navigation easier.
Use Torches Strategically
While shader settings help, placing torches along paths remains effective. Forrest Shaders preserves vanilla lighting, so torches still work as expected and combine well with the shader's sunbeam effects.
Test Different Times of Day
Forest visibility varies with sun position. Visit your area at different times—midday provides maximum sunbeam brightness, while dawn and dusk create longer, more dramatic rays that may illuminate different areas. Adjust shader settings based on when you typically play.
