Forgiveness Mod Guide: Reverse Crafting Basics
Turning Crafted Items Back Into Materials
Forgiveness Mod adds reverse crafting recipes so you can break down crafted blocks and items back into their source materials. Instead of losing materials when you craft something you no longer need, you can recover them.
Common conversions include:
- Slabs back into
blocks - Stairs back into
blocks - Glass panes back into glass
- Walls back into
blocks - Sticks back into oak planks
- Doors, buttons, trapdoors, and signs back into their planks (or iron/stone where applicable)
- Hanging signs back into stripped logs
Other supported reversals cover clay, quartz, wool and carpet, pistons, dispensers and droppers, melon, ice, and stripped logs or wood.
Because recipes are added rather than changed, you simply craft the item as usual in a crafting grid to receive the original material. This makes storage, building experiments, and reclaiming resources much more forgiving.
