Fishing and Water Management at the Pond
Setting Up a Fishing Station
The pond outside the front door is your closest water source. Build a small platform or dock at the water's edge—use wood blocks that match the house's aesthetic. Place a crafting table or chest here if you want to process your catch immediately. The pond is calm and safe, making it ideal for AFK fishing if you set up a simple farm.
Maintaining Water Access
The pond provides drinking water and fishing opportunities, but it can freeze in cold biomes. If your forest is snowy, consider placing torches or lanterns around the pond's edge to keep it liquid. You can also bucket water from the pond to fill cauldrons inside the house for backup.
For long-term water management, the pond's small size means it won't support large-scale farming. If you need more water for irrigation or industrial builds, dig a channel from the pond toward your garden areas, or create a separate water system using buckets and cauldrons. The gravel path won't interfere with careful water placement.
