How to Make Your Pets Teleport With You Using Commands

The Basic Setup

This mod hooks into Minecraft's teleport commands so that any tamed animal standing near you comes along for the ride. The key requirement is that the pet must be standing, not sitting. If your wolf or cat is in a sitting pose, it will be left behind on purpose.

Step-by-Step

1. Right-click your pet to toggle it out of sitting mode. You should see it stand up and start following you.

2. Make sure the pet is actually close to you. The mod checks for nearby tamed animals at the moment the teleport fires, so a pet wandering far away may not be picked up.

3. Run your teleport command as normal (for example, a /tp to coordinates, another player, or a named location).

4. Watch your pet appear beside you at the destination. If it doesn't, check that it wasn't sitting and that it was within range.

Common Mistakes

  • Leaving a pet sitting because you right-clicked it earlier to keep it safe. Sitting pets are intentionally excluded.
  • Teleporting while your pet is stuck behind a wall or far behind you. Walk close first, then teleport.
  • Assuming untamed animals will come. Only tamed pets are affected.
