How to Configure Post-Teleport Damage Protection for Your Pets
What the Protection Does
After a teleport, pets can sometimes land in a bad spot — inside a block, over a cliff, or in lava. The mod can grant a short window of damage immunity right after teleporting so your pet survives the arrival. This is controlled by two settings in the mod's config file.
Editing the Config
1. Locate the mod's config file in your Minecraft config folder. It is a plain text file you can open with any text editor.
2. Find disableFollowerDamageAfterTeleport. Set it to enable or disable the immunity feature entirely.
3. Find durationInSecondsDamageShouldBeDisabled. This controls how many seconds the protection lasts. The default is 20 seconds, but you can raise or lower it.
4. Save the file and restart the game so the changes load.
Choosing a Duration
- Short durations are fine if you usually teleport to safe, open ground.
- Longer durations help when you frequently teleport into caves, near cliffs, or into the Nether.
- If you disable the feature, pets take normal damage immediately on arrival, so only do this if you always land somewhere safe.
