Use the Mod on Multiplayer Servers

Client-Side Installation

Folium Frond Expansion is entirely client-side, meaning you can join any server — vanilla, modded, or otherwise — without the server needing the mod installed.

Setup Steps

1. Install the mod on your client only (your Minecraft installation)

2. Join any server as you normally would

3. Foliage renders locally on your screen; other players see vanilla trees

What Other Players See

Other players without the mod see standard blocky foliage. You see the expanded, bushy models. This creates no conflicts because the mod only affects rendering on your computer.

Compatibility Notes

• Works with servers running modded trees (from mods like Biomes O' Plenty, etc.)
• Doesn't affect server performance or gameplay mechanics
• Your foliage changes are purely visual and don't sync to the server
• No special permissions or whitelist changes needed
