Understanding Colored Light Spread
How Colored Lighting Works
Floodfill Lights Shaders changes how light from glowing blocks spreads through your world. Instead of the default lighting system, colored light now propagates realistically across surfaces, items, and walls while maintaining Minecraft's classic visual style.
Glowing blocks emit light in their actual colors—for example, lava spreads warm orange light, while soul lanterns cast blue illumination. This colored light interacts with your surroundings naturally, creating atmospheric lighting effects without drastically altering the game's appearance.
The shader works as a core lighting system, so the changes apply globally throughout your world. This means all light-emitting blocks automatically benefit from the new colored lighting mechanics without requiring additional configuration.
