Fixing GL_FRAMEBUFFER_INCOMPLETE_ATTACHMENT and GL_INVALID_FRAMEBUFFER_OPERATION Errors

What These Errors Mean

Both errors relate to framebuffers — the off-screen buffers Minecraft renders into before displaying a frame. GL_FRAMEBUFFER_INCOMPLETE_ATTACHMENT means a framebuffer was set up incorrectly or its attachments were freed while still in use. GL_INVALID_FRAMEBUFFER_OPERATION means the game tried to draw into a framebuffer that was no longer valid. Leaked GPU memory is a frequent cause of both, which is exactly what this mod addresses.

What To Do

1. Install the mod and do a full restart of the game process, not just a world reload.

2. Disable shaders if you use them. Shader packs create many extra framebuffers, so they multiply the chance of hitting these errors while a leak is present.

3. Turn off any mods that add custom rendering overlays or post-processing one at a time, testing after each change. If the error disappears with a specific mod disabled, that mod is creating framebuffers the leak fix cannot clean up.

4. Change your GUI scale and then change it back. This forces Minecraft to rebuild its interface framebuffers and can clear a stuck invalid state without a restart.

5. If the error appears only when opening a specific screen — a machine GUI, a map, a custom menu — that screen is the trigger. Report it with the screen name.

After the Fix

Once the mod is active and the offending framebuffer source is removed, these errors should stop appearing in your log entirely.
