Enable Performance Optimizations

Access Performance Settings

Feather Standalone includes built-in performance mods that improve frame rates and reduce lag. Open the mod menu (usually accessible from the main menu or in-game) and navigate to the Performance or Optimization section.

Configure Key Options

Look for toggles related to:

  • Chunk rendering – reduces the number of chunks processed each frame
  • Entity culling – hides entities outside your view
  • Particle effects – lower or disable unnecessary particles
  • Smooth lighting – toggle for performance vs. visual quality
  • Fog distance – adjust render distance without affecting gameplay

Apply and Test

Enable optimizations one at a time and check your FPS counter (F3 key shows debug info). Start with the most aggressive settings if you're getting low frame rates, then dial back until you find a balance between performance and visual quality. Changes apply immediately without restarting.
