Build an Efficient Travel Network with Path Blocks

Planning Your Route

Identify key locations you visit frequently—your base, farms, mines, and trading posts. Mark these points and plan a path that connects them efficiently. Path blocks work best on relatively flat terrain; plan routes that minimize elevation changes.

Construction and Optimization

1. Clear a 1-block-wide corridor between your destinations

2. Place path blocks along the entire route

3. Use path blocks to create gentle slopes instead of stairs—you can walk up them without jumping, saving time and hunger

4. At intersections, create wider areas or use different block types to mark directions

5. Consider adding lighting alongside your paths for nighttime safety

Testing Your Network

Walk your completed path at full speed. You should notice the Speed II effect activating immediately when you step on path blocks. Test slopes to confirm you can ascend without jumping. If sections feel awkward, widen them or adjust the route.

Path networks are most effective when they form a connected system. Once established, you'll notice significantly faster travel times compared to walking on regular terrain, making resource gathering and base hopping much more efficient.
