Troubleshoot When Totem Won't Equip

Common Issues

If Shift-clicking a Totem of Undying isn't moving it to your offhand, check these conditions.

Diagnostic Checklist

1. Verify your offhand is empty. Open your inventory and look at the offhand slot (right side of your character model). If anything is there—even a shield or another item—move it to your main inventory first.

2. Confirm you're holding Shift. The mod requires Shift to be held while clicking. Regular clicks won't work.

3. Check you have a real Totem of Undying. Some mods add similar items with different names. Make sure the item tooltip says "Totem of Undying."

4. Ensure the mod is active. Restart your game if you recently installed or updated the mod.

5. Test in a safe location. Try equipping a totem in your base or a peaceful area to confirm the mechanic works before relying on it in combat.

If none of these steps work, your mod installation may have an issue. The offhand slot being occupied is the most common reason equipping fails.
