Fix Recipe Loading Crashes at Startup

Identify the Problem

If your game crashes or hangs when loading recipes during startup, especially in large modpacks, the mod's recipe indexing system may be overwhelmed. This is a known issue when the mod attempts to process hundreds of thousands of recipes at once.

Enable Safe Mode

Open your mod configuration file (usually located in your config folder). Look for the Fast Recipes Mod settings and find the option related to recipe loading or startup behavior. Change the setting to use a slower, safer indexing method—this trades some startup speed for stability.

Verify the Fix

Restart your game. The startup should now complete without crashing, though it may take longer than usual. Once in-game, crafting table lag should still be eliminated during normal play.

If Problems Persist

If crashes continue, try reducing the number of mods in your pack or allocate more RAM to your game instance. The mod works best when your system has adequate memory to handle the recipe database.
