Increase Your View Distance Beyond Server Limits

Access the Mod Configuration

Farsight Mod works automatically once installed, but you can customize how far chunks are retained. Open your mod settings or configuration menu (usually accessible from the main menu or in-game settings, depending on your mod loader).

Adjust Maximum Chunk Distance

Locate the Farsight configuration option for maximum render distance. You can increase this up to a configurable limit, allowing you to see farther than your server permits. Higher values let you see more terrain, but require more computer memory and processing power.

Monitor Performance

After adjusting the distance, load into your world and observe frame rates. If performance drops significantly, reduce the maximum distance slightly. The mod will continue to display previously-visited chunks even if your server's render distance is low, so you don't need to maximize the setting immediately.

Test Different Distances

Start with a moderate increase (a few chunks beyond server limits) and gradually raise it as your system handles it. This prevents lag while letting you enjoy improved visibility for exploration and building.
