How to Grow and Harvest Mod Crops

Finding Seeds

Farmers Delight adds crops like cabbage, tomatoes, onions, and rice. Seeds come from village chests, breaking grass, or from the crops themselves. Cabbage seeds and tomato seeds are the most common early finds. Rice is typically found near water in the wild.

Planting and Growth

Plant seeds on farmland like vanilla crops. Most grow through several stages and can be harvested when fully ripe. Tomatoes grow on vines — the Budding Tomato Vine produces tomatoes you can pick repeatedly without replanting. Rice must be planted in shallow water or on farmland adjacent to water, similar to sugarcane placement.

Harvesting

Right-click or break mature crops to collect the produce plus seeds for replanting. Cabbage yields a head plus leaves; leaves are used in recipes. Onions and tomatoes drop multiple items. Use a knife on some crops for better yields or special drops.

Storage

Crates hold nine of a single crop and stack compactly, saving chest space. Place crates near your farm for quick unloading. Baskets are handy for carrying produce while harvesting.

Tips

  • Bone meal speeds growth on most crops.
  • Keep a water source within range of farmland.
  • Replant immediately after harvest to keep supply steady.
