Customize Wind and Wave Effects for Different Biomes

Understand Biome Variation

FancyWind and Waves applies the same animation settings globally—there is no per-biome customization built into the shader itself. However, you can manually adjust settings to suit your playstyle across all biomes.

Optimize for Mixed Environments

Choose a middle-ground wind speed that feels natural in both dense forests and open plains. Slower speeds (around 30-50% intensity) work well for most players without feeling static.

Use Wave Settings for Water Variety

Wave intensity applies to all water blocks equally. If you want calm rivers but active oceans, the shader cannot distinguish between them—consider using a single moderate setting.

Visual Workaround

You can enhance immersion by building structures that frame animations. Tall trees naturally showcase wind effects; waterfalls and fountains highlight wave movement.

Tip: Visit different biomes after adjusting settings to see how animations feel in varied terrain before finalizing your preferences.
