Craft Your First Flare Gun

Gather Your Materials

Before you can start signaling, you'll need to collect the crafting ingredients. You'll need copper (obtainable from copper ore in caves and cliffs), sticks (craft from wood planks or find them on the ground), a lever (craft from a stick and a cobblestone or wooden plank), flint and steel (craft flint with steel ingot, or find flint by breaking gravel), and red dye (craft from rose bushes, poppies, or other red flowers).

Craft at a Crafting Table

Once you have all materials, open your crafting table. Arrange the copper, sticks, lever, flint and steel, and red dye according to the mod's recipe pattern. The exact placement matters—refer to your crafting grid carefully. When arranged correctly, the flare gun will appear in the result slot. Drag it into your inventory.

Test Your New Gun

With the flare gun in hand, load a cartridge by pressing R or left-clicking with an empty gun. A cartridge will transfer from your inventory into the gun. Aim upward into the sky and fire to see your first bright flare launch into the air. The gun is now ready for signaling and exploration.
