How to Make Snow and Rain Particles Look Better
Understand the Weather Effects
Fancy Block Particles Renewed turns raindrops and snowflakes into 3D particles that fall, land, and briefly stay on the ground before fading. Snow is the most visible example: white 3D flakes settle and linger. The config controls how long they stay and how many spawn.
Adjusting the Look
Open the mod config and find the weather or rain/snow section.
- Increase particle lifetime if you want snow to remain on the ground longer before disappearing.
- Increase density for a heavier, more dramatic snowfall, or decrease it for a light dusting.
- If rain looks too cluttered, lower its density while leaving snow high, since the two are usually separate options.
- Make sure the weather category is enabled; if it is off, you will only see vanilla rain and snow.
Getting the Best Result
Stand in an open area during actual weather to judge changes, since particles under trees or roofs behave differently. If you use shaders, check how the 3D particles interact with your shader's lighting, and reduce density if they become hard to see or overly bright. Reload the world after major changes so the new settings apply cleanly.
