Optimize Performance When Leaves Are Causing Lag

Reduce Particle Count

Open the mod's configuration file and lower the particle spawn rate multiplier. This is the most direct way to reduce the number of falling leaves rendering at once, which directly improves frame rate.

Disable Particles in Specific Biomes

Some configurations allow you to exclude certain biomes from particle effects. If your world has dense forests in specific regions, consider disabling leaves there while keeping them in other areas.

Limit Particle Lifetime

Shorten how long individual leaf particles remain visible before despawning. Faster despawn rates mean fewer particles exist simultaneously on screen.

Reduce Weather Intensity

If rain and thunderstorms cause significant lag spikes due to increased leaf fall, lower the storm multiplier that boosts particle density during bad weather.

Disable Advanced Interactions

Turn off block collision detection for particles if available. This prevents leaves from calculating realistic landing positions, reducing CPU overhead.

Monitor Results

Test each change in a forest area during different weather conditions. Use F3 debug screen to monitor particle count and frame rate improvements.
