Make Leaves Fall More Realistically on Uneven Terrain
Enable Block Collision Detection
In the mod configuration, ensure that particle-to-block collision is enabled. This setting allows leaves to interact with terrain features like hills, cliffs, and overhangs rather than falling straight down.
Adjust Collision Sensitivity
If available, modify how strictly particles detect block surfaces. Higher sensitivity makes leaves land on more detailed terrain features; lower sensitivity makes them pass through small gaps and land on larger surfaces.
Test on Varied Terrain
Walk through areas with steep slopes, caves, and dense vegetation. Observe whether leaves realistically accumulate on ledges, slopes, and tree canopies. They should settle on top of blocks rather than phasing through them.
Fine-Tune Wind Interaction
Adjust wind strength so leaves drift sideways as they fall, creating natural-looking accumulation patterns on slopes. Strong wind should push leaves toward one side of a hill.
Verify in Different Biomes
Test in mountains, forests, and custom terrain. Leaves should behave consistently across varied landscapes. If particles still phase through blocks or hover unnaturally, check that collision detection is fully enabled and your terrain isn't using problematic custom blocks.
