Create Custom Leaf Particles for Modded Trees
Prepare Your Resource Pack
Create or edit a resource pack in your .minecraft/resourcepacks folder. Falling Leaves Plus reads custom particle textures from resource packs, allowing you to define unique leaves for trees added by other mods.
Add Particle Textures
Place your custom leaf texture images in the appropriate particle texture directory within your resource pack. Ensure textures are PNG format and follow Minecraft's texture naming conventions. Create multiple texture variants for the same leaf type to add visual variety.
Define Particle Behavior
Edit or create the mod's particle definition file within your resource pack. Specify which tree blocks should drop which leaf particles, and set properties like color tinting, rotation speed, and drift behavior.
Link Trees to Particles
Map modded tree log or leaf blocks to your custom particles. You can often do this by block ID or registry name, depending on how the mod structures its configuration.
Test and Iterate
Load your world with the resource pack enabled. Walk near modded trees to verify particles appear correctly. Adjust texture sizes, colors, or fall speeds as needed until the effect matches your vision.
