Create the Perfect Lighting for Building and Decorating

Understand How the Shader Affects Block Colors

Faded Summer Memories applies warm color grading across all blocks, which can make it harder to judge true block colors when building. The shader makes warm-toned blocks (wood, terracotta, sand) appear more saturated and nostalgic, while cool-toned blocks (stone, concrete) shift slightly warmer.

Use Daytime for Accurate Color Matching

Build during in-game daytime when the shader's soft sunlight is most consistent. Avoid building during sunset or sunrise when color shifts are most dramatic. Position your build site in open areas where sunlight is even, rather than under tree cover where shadows create unpredictable color variations.

Test Block Combinations

Place sample blocks of your intended palette and view them from multiple angles and distances. The shader's soft lighting can make subtle color differences harder to spot up close. Step back to see how your color scheme reads from a distance.

Account for the Warm Filter

Remember that cooler colors (blues, purples, grays) will appear warmer under this shader. If you want a cool-toned build, you may need to use blocks that are cooler than you'd normally choose. Conversely, warm tones will feel even more nostalgic and cozy.
