How to Plan Your Farm Around the Seasons in Fabric Seasons Delight Compat

Understanding Seasonal Growth

With this compat mod installed, Farmer's Delight crops (and crops from Cultural Delights and Expanded Delights) no longer grow at a single fixed rate. Instead, each crop's growth speed changes depending on the current season. Some crops thrive in warm seasons and stall in cold ones, while others prefer the opposite. This means a field that produces constantly in vanilla will now have clear boom and bust periods.

Steps to Plan Ahead

1. Check the current season using whatever season indicator your Fabric Seasons setup provides (HUD element, calendar item, or command).

2. Fast-growing crops that match the current season will mature quickly; off-season crops may barely progress.

3. Stagger your planting. Put in a mix of in-season and out-of-season crops so you always have something ripening rather than everything finishing at once.

4. Use the off-season for other tasks: processing, cooking, mining, or building up bone meal and fertilizer stockpiles.

5. When a new season starts, replant the crops that are now favored and harvest anything that stalled.

Treat your farm as a rotating schedule rather than a permanent setup, and you will rarely run out of ingredients.
