Which Croptopia Crops to Plant in Each Season

Why Crop Choice Matters Now

The Fabric Seasons Croptopia Compat Mod ties Croptopia growth speed to the season. Crops that match the current season grow noticeably faster, while mismatched crops slow down. Choosing the right crop for the season is the single biggest yield improvement you can make.

Matching Crops to Seasons

1. Identify the season you are currently in. Fabric Seasons cycles through spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

2. For spring, favour leafy greens, berries, and cool-weather vegetables — crops that in real life tolerate mild, wet conditions.

3. For summer, plant heat-loving crops such as tomatoes, peppers, corn, and melons, which benefit from the warm season.

4. For autumn, focus on root vegetables, squash, and grains that finish before the cold sets in.

5. For winter, expect almost everything to slow down. Plant only what you absolutely need, or rely on stored food and any cold-tolerant crops your pack includes.

Reading the Signs In-Game

If you are unsure whether a crop likes the current season, watch its growth over a couple of in-game days. Fast visual stage changes mean it is in-season; long stalls mean it is out of season. Build a small experimental bed near your base and rotate test crops through it each season to learn your pack's specific behaviour, since exact preferences can vary with config.
