How to Test and Confirm Seasonal Growth Speeds for Your Crops

Why You Should Test Yourself

Exact growth multipliers per crop and per season can differ depending on your modpack version and configuration. Rather than trusting a chart, run a quick in-game test to learn how your specific setup behaves. This takes a little time but pays off for the rest of your world.

Setting Up a Test Plot

1. Pick a flat, well-lit area near your base so all test crops share identical light and soil conditions.

2. Plant one row of each crop you care about, all at the same moment, on identical farmland.

3. Note the in-game day or time when you planted.

4. Check the plot at the same time each in-game day and record which crops have advanced a growth stage.

5. Repeat the same test in each of the four seasons, using fresh seeds each time.

Interpreting Results

Crops that reach maturity fastest are your in-season winners. Crops that barely move are out of season. Compare the same crop across seasons to see the size of the seasonal swing — some crops may only slow slightly, while others nearly stop.

Using What You Learn

Build a simple written or in-game sign chart of your findings. Then plan plantings so your highest-demand ingredients are always grown in their best season, and use off-season slots only for crops you need in small quantities. Re-run the test if you change modpack versions or configs, since behaviour can shift.
