Customizing Names with Prefixes and Suffixes

Prefixes and suffixes appear before or after a player's name, perfect for showing rank, status, or creative titles on your server.

Setting a Prefix

Use the command: /name <player> prefix:<prefix_text>

Example: /name Alex prefix:[Admin] displays the player as [Admin] Alex

Setting a Suffix

Use the command: /name <player> suffix:<suffix_text>

Example: /name Jordan suffix:the Brave displays as Jordan the Brave

Combining Prefix, Suffix, and Colors

You can stack customizations together:

• /name Sam prefix:&6[VIP] suffix:&7✦ creates [VIP] Sam ✦ with gold and gray colors
• Use &l for bold, &o for italic, and other formatting codes alongside colors

Removing Prefix or Suffix

Set them to empty text: /name <player> prefix: or /name <player> suffix:

Both prefixes and suffixes update in real-time across the server and work in chat, above heads, and in player lists.
