Add Lore and Descriptions to Items

Creating Item Lore with /itemlore

Item lore adds descriptive text that appears when you hover over an item, perfect for storytelling, quest markers, or documenting special items on your server.

Adding Lore to an Item

1. Hold the item you want to add lore to

2. Use: /itemlore <lore_text>

3. The text appears in the item's tooltip when hovering

Example: /itemlore This blade was forged in the depths of the Nether.

Using Colors in Lore

Format lore with color codes using &:

  • /itemlore &7A mysterious artifact with unknown powers creates gray text
  • /itemlore &6Quest Item: &fFind the hidden temple mixes gold and white
  • Use &o for italic flavor text: /itemlore &oLegend says this belonged to an ancient hero

Multiple Lines of Lore

Each /itemlore command adds a new line. Use the command multiple times to build detailed descriptions:

1. /itemlore &6Legendary Sword

2. /itemlore &7Damage: Very High

3. /itemlore &oForged in starlight

Clearing Lore

Use /itemlore with no text to remove all lore from the held item.

Lore is purely informational and doesn't affect item function—perfect for immersion and server storytelling.
