Keeping Your Items Safe

When you die, your hotbar, armor, and offhand items are automatically preserved. Your dropped items collect in a special minecart at your death location, keeping them safe from despawning.

You'll receive a death compass that points toward your dropped items, making recovery straightforward. Simply follow the compass back to retrieve your minecart and reclaim everything you lost. This system removes the pressure of racing against the clock after dying, letting you prepare properly before heading back out to collect your gear.
