Turning Off Chat and Drop Sounds While Keeping Other Feedback

Identifying Which Cue Is Bothering You

Extra Sounds Next covers several distinct actions, and players often want to silence only one. Before changing anything, reproduce the sound deliberately: send a chat message to hear the chat cue, press your drop key with an item selected to hear the drop cue, and scroll your hotbar for the scroll cue. Knowing exactly which action triggers the noise prevents you from disabling the wrong toggle.

Disabling Selectively

Open the mod config from the mod list. Find the entry matching the action you identified — chat, item drop, or whichever it is — and switch it off. Leave the other entries enabled so you keep feedback for the actions you still enjoy. Apply and close the screen.

Confirming the Change Stuck

Re-test each action in-game. The disabled one should now be silent while the others still play. If the sound returns after restarting Minecraft, your config may not have saved; reopen the config screen, toggle the option off again, and close it cleanly using the done or save button rather than pressing Escape. If you later want the sound back, the same toggle restores it — you do not need to reinstall or reset the whole mod.
