Making Inventory and Hotbar Sounds Quieter Without Disabling Them

Why the Defaults Feel Loud

Extra Sounds Next plays a cue every time you scroll the hotbar or click a slot, and because those actions happen constantly, the repetition makes the sounds feel louder than they are. The fix is not to turn them off but to reduce their volume so they blend into the background of your game audio.

Adjusting the Right Slider

Open the mod's config screen from the mod list. Locate the volume control associated with inventory and hotbar actions. Lower it gradually — small steps work better than dragging to the bottom, because you still want audible feedback. Test by opening your inventory and clicking a few empty slots, then scrolling your hotbar. If the sound is still distracting, drop it another step.

Separating Hotbar from Inventory

If scrolling is fine but clicking is not (or the reverse), check whether your version exposes separate toggles for each. When they are separate, tune only the offending one. When they share a single control, you have two choices: accept a compromise volume, or disable the shared sound and rely on vanilla's own click for one of the actions. Keep your music and master game volume unchanged so you are judging the mod's sounds against a consistent baseline rather than against a temporarily quiet mix.
