How to Change or Mute Individual Sounds in Extra Sounds Next
Finding the Sound Options
Extra Sounds Next exposes its settings through the mod's own config screen rather than vanilla's sound menu. Open the mod list from the main menu or pause screen, select Extra Sounds Next, and click the config button. You will see a list of toggles grouped by action type — hotbar scrolling, inventory clicks, item drops, chat, and similar interactions. Each entry controls whether that specific sound plays at all.
Tuning Volume and Disabling Annoying Cues
If a sound is too loud but you still want it, look for a volume slider next to the toggle. Drag it down instead of disabling the sound entirely. For sounds you never want to hear — for example, the click when you drop an item — flip the toggle off. Changes usually apply immediately, so you can scroll your hotbar or open your inventory to test without restarting the game.
Per-Sound vs Global Control
Some builds of the mod separate a master volume from individual action volumes. If you lower the master, every Extra Sounds Next cue gets quieter together, which is handy when you only want the mod's feedback to sit under your music and mob sounds. If you want one action silent but the rest untouched, always use the per-action toggle rather than the master slider. After adjusting, close the config screen so the mod writes your choices to its config file; otherwise a crash or forced quit can revert them.
