Fixing Missing or Silent Extra Sounds Next Cues
Check the Obvious First
If sounds that used to play have gone quiet, start with the mod's own config. Open the mod list, select Extra Sounds Next, and open its config screen. Confirm the relevant action toggles are still enabled and that no volume slider has been dragged to zero. It is easy to disable a cue while experimenting and forget about it.
Rule Out Conflicts
Next, check your overall sound settings. If the master volume or the appropriate sound category is muted, no mod cue will be audible. Also consider other audio mods: a sound-overhaul or audio-engine mod can take over playback and suppress cues it does not recognise. Temporarily disabling other audio mods and testing tells you whether a conflict is responsible.
When Only Some Actions Are Silent
If scrolling works but inventory clicks do not, the problem is almost always a per-action toggle rather than a broken install. Re-enable that specific entry and test again. If nothing plays at all, verify the mod is actually loaded for the current profile — a wrong profile or a disabled mod produces total silence with no error. Finally, remember that resource packs can replace sounds; a pack that overrides the relevant sound events will change what you hear even though the mod is working correctly.
