Build Architectural Details Using Vertical Slabs and Slabs
What Vertical Slabs Offer
Vertical slabs are half-width blocks placed perpendicular to regular slabs. While regular slabs split a block horizontally, vertical slabs split it vertically, allowing you to create thin walls, pillars, and trim details that wouldn't be possible with full blocks.
Combining Slabs and Vertical Slabs
Place a regular slab on one half of a block, then a vertical slab on the other half to create a cross-section. This technique works well for creating window frames, decorative panels, or intricate wall patterns. Experiment with different Blockus block colors to add visual variety.
Creating Thin Pillars and Trim
Stack vertical slabs to form narrow pillars that support roofs or frame doorways. Use them as baseboards or crown molding by placing them along the edges of walls. Their thin profile makes them ideal for detailed architectural work without consuming excessive space.
Layering for Depth
Build outward from a wall using alternating slabs and vertical slabs to create relief patterns. This technique adds shadow and dimension to otherwise flat surfaces, making your builds feel more refined and intentional.
