Reduce Explosion Debris for Better Performance

Adjusting Debris Settings

If your game is lagging during large explosions, the physics-based debris system may be overwhelming your system. You can dial back the visual intensity while keeping the mod's core features.

Steps

1. Navigate to your game's config folder and open explosion-overhaul.json in a text editor

2. Look for the debris configuration section, which controls how many blocks are launched and how fast they travel

3. Reduce the spawn chance value to lower how often debris appears

4. Lower the speed multiplier to make debris move more slowly through the air

5. Save the file and restart your game

Testing Your Changes

Trigger a small explosion (like a single TNT block) to see the new debris behavior. If performance is still poor, reduce the values further. You can always increase them again if the explosions feel less impactful. The amount of debris spawned scales with explosion power, so large blasts will still look dramatic even with reduced settings.
