Surviving and Farming a Slime Cave

Slime Caves are underground caverns packed with slimes. They are the best source of slimeballs in the mod, but the constant bouncing mobs make them dangerous.

Preparing to Enter

• Bring a sword with good knockback or a bow. Slimes split when killed, so you need to finish the small ones too.
• Wear at least iron armor and carry a shield. Large slimes hit hard in tight tunnels.
• Bring blocks to wall off side passages so slimes cannot swarm you from behind.
• Carry a light source — slime caves are often dim, and other hostile mobs spawn alongside the slimes.

Farming Slimeballs

1. Find a choke point in the cave and build a small killing corridor with a one-block gap.

2. Lure slimes into the gap and kill them one at a time; the splits stay contained.

3. Collect slimeballs from the small slimes — these are the drops you actually want.

4. If you want a permanent farm, section off a lit chamber and let slimes spawn in a dark pocket you control.

Do not fight in open caverns where slimes can surround you. Retreat to your corridor whenever the numbers get high.
