Exploring a Jungle Temple and Avoiding Its Traps
The
Explorations Mod Jungle Temple is a mossy stone structure hidden under jungle canopy. It mixes loot rooms with simple traps, so approach it prepared.
Getting Inside
Temples are often swallowed by vines and leaves. Clear foliage around the base to reveal the entrance, then look for a stairway or doorway leading down. Bring shears to cut vines quickly and a torch stack — interiors are dim and mobs spawn freely.
Handling Traps and Loot
- Watch the floor. Pressure plates and tripwire are the usual triggers; crouch-walk over suspicious tiles or break them from a safe distance.
- Disarm dispensers by mining them from the side rather than standing in front of them.
- Loot chests are typically in side rooms or at the bottom of the stairwell. Empty every chest before leaving, since temples are one-time visits.
- Do not dig straight down inside the temple — you may break into a hidden chamber or fall into a pit.
- If you find a sealed room, check the walls for a concealed opening before assuming it is empty.
Leave a trail of torches so you can backtrack, and bring a bed or recall item in case the temple connects to a cave network.
