Verify Your Mods Are Hidden from Servers

Check What the Mod Blocks

Exploit Preventer works silently in the background. You won't see a visual indicator every time it blocks a server probe, but you can confirm protection is active by understanding what it guards against.

The mod prevents servers from detecting your installed mods through two common exploit methods:

  • Sign and anvil scanning: Servers sometimes embed code in signs or anvils that try to read your mod list when you view them. Exploit Preventer intercepts these attempts.
  • Resource pack tricks: Malicious servers may use fake resource packs to force connections to external addresses or local files on your computer.

Trust the Protection

Once installed, the mod requires no configuration for basic protection. It automatically:

  • Blocks mod detection queries
  • Prevents unauthorized file access attempts
  • Isolates resource pack storage per account

If you're concerned about a specific server's behavior, you can safely join knowing Exploit Preventer is filtering hostile requests. The mod allows legitimate server plugins and communication to function normally—only malicious probes are stopped.
