Plan Your Base Layout Within Border Constraints
Starting Small
You begin in a 3×3 space, which is extremely limited. Prioritize only essential structures initially:
- A crafting table
- A furnace for smelting
- A bed for sleeping
- Basic storage
Stack these vertically or arrange them compactly to maximize functionality in minimal space.
Prepare for Growth
Mark expansion zones. As your border grows, plan where you want to expand. Consider building your base near the center of your starting area so you can expand outward in all directions evenly.
Gather resources strategically. Use your limited space to set up a small mining operation or farm that generates XP and materials. Once your border expands, you'll have room to build larger facilities.
Design modularly. Build structures that can be expanded later—for example, a 3×3 furnace room that becomes a larger smelting facility once space permits.
Think of your initial base as temporary infrastructure. Your real base-building begins once you've gained enough XP to access meaningful space.
