Understanding XP Gain

The border expands as you gain experience points. Any action that normally grants XP in vanilla Minecraft will contribute to border expansion, including:

• Mining ores
• Smelting items in furnaces
• Crafting
• Defeating mobs
• Fishing
• Breeding animals
• Enchanting

Strategies to Maximize XP

Focus on high-yield activities. Mining valuable ores and defeating mobs are among the fastest ways to accumulate XP. Set up a mob farm or mining operation within your current border to generate steady experience.

Combine multiple tasks. Smelt your mined ores to gain XP twice—once from mining, once from smelting. This doubles your progress toward border expansion.

Prepare for expansion. Before your border grows significantly, gather resources and build infrastructure (furnaces, crafting tables, farms) that will help you continue gaining XP efficiently once you have more space.

Remember that border expansion is gradual, so consistent XP farming is more effective than sporadic play. Plan your early-game activities around activities that grant experience.
